Can you get socialization at schools? Print E-mail

Image The biggest question asked of homeschoolers is of how they deal with socialization. Uninformed societies think the only way to find socialization is in schools. Well, the last place you will find a healthy socialization is in schools. Open your eyes, folks. Our societies today are not like the societies in the 40's or 50's.

Family members socialize, however, not all family members today get to socialize much, especially if each one is split off to their various destinations:

  • babies and toddlers go to daycare
  • preschoolers and kindergartners go to preschools and kindergartens
  • school-aged siblings go to schools
  • Mom and Dad go to work

In family units such as this, where do the members get to socialize at all? Maybe once in the evening, before they get whipped off to bed and start the whole boring ritual again the next day. This, is what I call a dysfunctional society. There is no sense of belonging in the family.

What kind of socialization do the children get in institutions beginning in preschools? How to survive based on the laws of the jungle. In other words, bullies rule. The authorities in charge do not inform the students on how to behave in a civilized manner. Most of the time, each child has to fend for himself with little guidance from anybody. If the child remembers to speak up about his bad day in school being bullied, perhaps his parents will try to intervene. Otherwise, children accept life as abused victims.

If you search for "bullying in schools" on the internet, you will find a never-ending list of results. Why would anyone even think that socialization is only attainable in schools? Who would want to socialize with bullies? Abused victims often end up as bullies themselves, trapped in an endless loop.

Most homeschoolers find socialization among family members of all age spectrums (the healthy socialization), homeschooling get togethers and conferences, extra-curricular activities, mentorship, internships, to name a few. Families who value good social behavior can be found among homeschoolers. Homeschoolers "graduate" into successful members of society with good moral values. Schoolers "graduate" with mixed-up confused values.

In America, Germany and most likely many advanced nations, values such as promiscous activities among homesexuals and bisexuals have been made mandatory in the school curriculums. G-d has declared these types of behaviors as abominations.

Before you send your kids off to schools, think about how you want your kid to end up.
