Image Today, Shevat 11, 5769, marks another sad day in the history of the Jewish people.  Our beloved Rabbi Noach Weinberg, zt"l, passed away this morning.  Rabbi Weinberg has touched the lives of many many Jews, even though many of us have never met him personally.  His influence and his mission in this world has such broad effects, that if you were to inspect your life, you will probably find Rabbi Noach in it.

If not for Rabbi Noach Weinberg,

  • I would not have been introduced to Voices of Jerusalem, back in the 90's, recorded lectures of the great teachers in Israel ranging from the Rabbi himself, Rebbetzin Tzipporah Heller to Rabbi Yitzchak Berkowitz
  • I would not have participated in a Discovery Seminar
  • I would not have had the priviledge of using AishLuach, a digital Jewish calendar that sits in every desktop and laptop I have owned, which keeps track of all the simchas, yahzeits, and Jewish holidays
  • I would not have had the priviledge of printing out the many coloring pages for my kids based on the weekly Parasha
  • I would not have encountered 'Lori, almost Live'
  • I would not have met Sara Yocheved Rigler live on one of her speaking tours and learned about the Holy Woman and Lights from Jerusalem
  • I would not have the merit of visiting the Aish haTorah building opposite the Western Wall.

Rabbi Noach Weinberg, zt"l earns the title as a tzaddik of our generation in my book.  I regret not having met him personally like I've met his brother, Rabbi Yaakov Weinberg, zt"l at Yeshivas Ner Israel.

Rabbi Noach Weinberg, zt"l is the Noach of our generation, whose unique approach to outreach is phenomenal.  His loss is felt by many, and he will be sorely missed by many.  But his legacy lives on.

Rabbi Weinberg, I would like to say "Thank you" for how much you have influenced my life.

To the entire klal, may Hashem comfort us among the mourners of Tzion and Yerushalayim
