Parashas Bo and Hashem's global involvement Print E-mail

Image In Parashas Bo, we learn about the mitzvah of Tefillin as a symbol of the rememberance of the Exodus of Egypt. It is no coincidence that Hashem also publicizes this mitzvah today in our world through a tiny little incident which made headlines this week in a small airplane.

Angels and Blessings Print E-mail

ImageIn the Torah, we learn about man's encounters with angels. In Avraham Avinu's household, angels were a common occurence, even Hagar was aware of them, as she merited living in Avraham's household. Yaakov Avinu also encountered angels in his journeys to and from the land of Israel. In our siddur, especially on Friday night, we recite "Shalom Alecheim" where we have a tradition that two angels accompany the men home from shul and the angels inspect the condition of our homes on Shabbos.

Appreciating Hashem Print E-mail

Image  We often take things for granted, as we go through life each day doing the same old routine. So sometimes we need to change our routine a little and take time off to appreciate Hashem. So what did we do this past Chanukah season? A trip to the aquarium!
